The Magic of Poetry

I'm in love with green trees
Swallow's nests
And swallows that chat to the wind
Windows overlooking the road
Flowers as the bees drink their nectar
Butterflies under thickets
A thicket draped with dew

When I feel alone
I am guided by a book
And the guarding eye of God

I feel in love with the almond blossom
As dawn laughs
Or cries like a cloud

I feel in love with poetry
Verbal fields
Passing through me
As I surmise quietly
How half of me
Became a dreamer

And the miserable half
That remains
Wanders along God's paths
