The Madness
When you give up the fight
one starts to sink into the depths
of a sickly-sweet world
of the madness that lies dark and dormant,
into the deadly grip of the madness deep inside you
When you surrender every last drop of sanity
to the insane conscious in the back of your mind
the worlds of fear and pain become meaningless to the soul,
they become numb and distant, made into nothingness
and yet they are the ruins that remain standing
When you submit to the demon of insanity
one is consumed by the unpredictable inconstant,
suffers the loss of the ever constant
and withdraws into a lost and unknown world
where reality in a distant memory and isolation is society
When the madness dominates your life
all self control and restraint are abandoned
because fear is no longer there to guide them
one becomes reckless and unreasonable
the reality that was once in control, simply vanishes
and arrives at a place where the real becomes unreal
The place where madness ensconces your mind
Where the madness is deep inside your mind
there its eternally lurking in the depths of one’s subconscious,
the madness constantly stirs up the nightmares of hell
and it forever says in its restless trance, watching and waiting,
the madness sits inside us quietly, till one slips into its baneful grasp
