Notes About The Poem

The Machine

The Machine

It was only $1 at the thrift.
How did I know it was going to be so fun?
First day out, right from the box,
the smell, the fragrance, the perfume, the air…

Bread!

Flour, milk, eggs and yeast…,
How do you do what you do?

A pleasure, to watch, funny wack-wack sounds,
yet in the end…a loaf of warm, pleasant freshness.

Now I use you daily, like making coffee… new.
Jam from the peach tree, and honey from the hive.
Life is worth living, we are meant to thrive.

Blessed be the morning, sweet smells in the air.
Bread made daily, and “needed” with prayer.

(yes, I know kneaded...but it is intentionally "needed") :)

Hello Ann Foster, there is nothing like the bread made from the bread machine. I just do not understand why the bread machine would eat up raisins.I never understood why. Have a nice evening my friend.

Ann when you do try raisins bread, let me know how it turned out, also if there are raisins in the bread. Hugs Darlene.

I have not tried raisins yet, but I know one excellent reason to buy one. They do not heat your kitchen. Here in mid summer it can be 114 easy. So I am having a great time. Ty for your kind comments. Have the very best day. Ann

Well, I highly recommend a crazy thrift store version. It has been fun for days. Costs nearly nothing and tastes like it came from above. Love that you make read...so cool. Hugs. Ann

I like the jauntiness feel to it that rendered the loving warmth of its contents as been realized--Great! Aloha always William
