Notes About The Poem

11/19/2025 for PLUM Poetry Contest sponsored by Miranda Hawley

The Love You Give

As you think of being dealt a rotten card,
and aspire toward what you wish to achieve,
and discover life is uncommonly hard,
consider - what you give is what you receive.
It's a challenging thought, but, in this regard,
I hope this God's truth, you sincerely believe.
Now, go forth to find that the love you create
will return doubly - it is never too late.

Yes, if we give, we shall receive in return. We don't know when it will happen, but it will happen. Sometimes way out in the future. Thank you for sharing this one with us. It reads like a good contender to me for the contest. Way to go. Sara K
