The Love That Stays
I didn't expect to see God showing me,
To remind me of what I already knew indefinitely,
The emotions become overwhelming and try to stand in the way,
But then again I knew God intentionally built me this way,
For without that part of me how could I ever feel?
It's ingrained in my spirit, it's part of the heal,
It's like walking on a tightrope trying to keep your balance,
To over feel or under feel in a world so unbalanced,
While you're walking on the rope, you focus on the other side,
While also focusing taking each step carefully on a straight line,
You cannot focus on one more than the other,
Because it's a package deal it all comes together,
So as many times as you fall you get back up again,
With breaks in between while you study the path,
To the texture of the rope, and the type of shoes you must wear,
To the weight of the layers of clothing, to the height you're in the air,
You go back and get back up again, you remember the other side,
And know the love you're living for, the love that saves your life.
