The Love of Jesus
When Jesus was crucified and nailed to the cross,
The thief beside him said’Lord help me I am lost.”
“Lord please forgive me for all of my sins”,
I have a broken spirit, with your love it will mend.”
Surely we have all been in a similar situation,
When it was almost too late for our salvation.
How many times do we ask for forgiveness today?
I know I was wrong I didn’t think to pray.
We’ve hid our faces, tried to run from our past,
Promised so many things, knowing it wouldn’t last.
What will happen when the judgement day is here?
Will we think of our sins or shed a tear?
How often do we ask¿‘Give me this one thing,”
“Lord grant me this wish and in your name I’ll sing.”
But when the prayer is answered, it all turns around,
Waiting for church to end, leaving without a sound.
What if God heard our prayer, but shook his mighty head,
“You’ve promised so many times but didn’t do what you said.”
“I’ve always answered you, gave you what you need,”
“I gave you the gift of life, but my word you did not read.”
“You cried on my shoulders when filled with much sorrow,”
“Always said you would do right, but wait till tomorrow.”
“Whenever you’ve needed me,haven’t I always been their,”
“I have always loved you, showed you how much I care.”
“But this time my child,I’m going to wait and see,”
“If you follow the ways of the world,or if you follow me.”
So,before you say your prayers, take a look at yourself,
Will you do what you promise if God gives you help?
