The Love of Humankind

Fighting the surge of life’s denial
Battling divisions of untrue love
Confrontations with municipalities
As St Paul’s words on institutions

Sounds of one’s name cringing
Wondering the true reasons why
Undercurrent separating citizens
Like Lazarus collecting crumbs

Denial of humanity and true love
Breaking hearts of thy neighbors
Skip whipped to a different color
As Christ stumbling with the cross

Racial attitudes need reconciling
Healing of bigotry for our nation
Citizens denying equal protection
Eliminate racial injustices now!
