The Love I Chose Again and Again
Jesus, I am so grateful that I fell in love with You,
and never, not once, have I regretted the day I chose You.
Yesterday, I chose You; today, I choose You still,
and tomorrow, with all my heart, I know I will.
I keep falling in love with You, again and again,
for Your love completes me and remains when others end.
Thank You for loving me unconditionally through all of my years,
for holding me through laughter, through heartache, and through tears.
No greater love has ever been, nor will there ever be,
than the precious love of Jesus, who gave Himself for me.
Always and forever, through every season I go through,
it will be Jesus and me—my heart belongs to You.
I fell in love with Jesus when I was just a tiny child,
watching my grandmother pray with a faith so pure and undefiled.
She taught me how to pray, how to trust, and how to believe
in a God who loved me deeply and would never leave.
“Mother,” as we called her, would call us to pray with her favourite Friend,
and I chose Jesus then and there, my Favourite to the very end.
I could see His love upon her face—her smile, her songs, her prayer,
and in the way she lived her life, I knew that Jesus was her everything.
She showed me what a trusting relationship with God could be,
and because she loved Him first, she helped Him become real to me.
Though she left this world when I was only five, her faith still lives in me;
her love for Jesus planted a seed that continues to grow faithfully.
I would not be who I am today without the faith she passed along,
and because she fell in love with Jesus, I learned where I belong.
Yes, I fell in love with Jesus, and I would choose Him once again,
and someday, in glory, I’ll see my grandmother when Jesus reigns.
Until that glorious day, He remains my closest, dearest Friend—
the One I chose in childhood, and will choose forever to the end.
