The Lost Sheep
I wandered off. I ran away.
I heard Him call and yet I chose to disobey.
Thought I was smart. Thought I was strong.
Thought I was independent, but boy, was I wrong.
Because I fell and I fell hard
And I was certain this time I had gone too far…
But He left the ninety-nine.
A fact that simply blows my mind.
And He did it just to find… me.
I was lost and scared and blind
But He left them all behind.
And He did it just to find… me.
Chose my own path. Away I ran.
I was so certain that I had a better plan.
I heard His voice call out to me
And still, I thought I’d make my own way. I’d be free.
But it was Pride led me astray.
And quickly I found out I didn’t know the way.
But He left the ninety-nine.
A fact that simply blows my mind.
And He did it just to find… me.
I was lost and scared and blind
But He left them all behind.
And He did it just to find… me.
I wandered off. I left the fold.
Thought, it’s my life so I will take back my control.
I just ignored His gentle voice.
I was so brave and bold in making my own choice.
And so, I fell, just fell apart.
And I was certain nothing could repair my heart.
But He left the ninety-nine.
A fact that simply blows my mind.
And He did it just to find… me.
I was lost and scared and blind
But He left them all behind.
And He did it just to find… me.
