The Lost Kiss
A lifetime ago a young girl asked for a kiss that was never given.
Her heart was full of a love she could never share.
Her voice spoke of her love many times.
But it did not fall on deaf ears
The young man’s heart felt the same love
He was not allowed to say what his heart was telling him.
He just looked into her eyes and dreamt of a single kiss.
Their love faded as the moments went by.
In his dreams he lived that one day over and over again.
He hears her asking for a kiss.
He sees her eyes tears as he did not respond.
His heart dies a bit every day.
He sees himself taking her hand into his.
His lips touch her as softly as a butterfly wing.
And he wonders how his life would have changed
If he had just granted a young girl’s wish
Even for a single moment, he had shared his love with her
