The Loss of My Friend

Oh sorrows I pray thee - cast not your long shadow upon me. Favor me instead with your blind eye - leaving me to bask in the radiant glow of warming sun and the taste of loving memories upon my heart. Let me be cleansed by the joy of this painful void now forever to be present with the knowledge I am better for it - having once known that void filled with the blessings and joyful spirit of my departed friend.
