The Loss
This nation used to believe in God,
until politicians took Him away.
The words our founding fathers wrote
lose their meaning in our day.
The courts took away the right
to say the pledge in school.
Now the words fade into history
because of the prejudice of a fool.
The freedom to say a prayer
is lost in the court's harsh glare.
As we twist the constitution,
society loses its ability to care.
The freedom to worship God
brings a troubled nation relief.
But the treasure of our freedom
came from our forefather's belief.
