In 1975 I was born again; three years after my father
died.  I only wish he could have been here to see
that I had made a great choice.  Eight years after
he died, the Lord gave me this poem about him and
let me know that he was in deed a believer in the
Lord.  Praise God!

The Lords Mercy

The Lord has shown His mercy
to take away my dad,
because he was suffering so
from an illness which he had.

I’ll miss his smile I loved so
his kind and gentle way,
but with God’s help and love from others
I will live through trying days.

He wasn’t what you would call so handsome
but then beauty runs skin deep,
it was what he was and what he did
that made our lives complete.

Others will miss my dad so good
many should I say,
we shouldn’t take each other for granted
or live life carelessly day by day.

One day though, I will see my dad again
for he was one of the Master’s sheep
and when I leave this earth at my appointed time
we will be united forever and this time for keeps.

Marilyn, sad but hopeful. Love the line about your dad being one of the Master's sheep!
