Notes About The Poem

Based on Psalm 91

The Lord Rescues Me

Let me run to You, O Lord, in times of trouble
Hold me securely in Your loving arms
For You are my shelter against those who hate me
Remind me that You are stronger than my enemies.

Keep me from harm, help me to trust in You alone
I lift up my cries to You in the night, O God
When fear surrounds me, I will call upon Your Name
Guard me from terrors, and let them not consume me.

May Your angels always guide me in Your ways
Let me desire to follow You all the days of my life
I will remember Your faithfulness to me, O Lord
Your promises are light and life to my soul.

Wonderful, beautiful, heart-felt poem, Laura. God is always our safe place, a shelter from harm. I very much relate to this piece. Psalms 23 comes to mind. Bless you my friend.

Took me to the gospel accounts of the storm on the Sea of Galilee. We are to trust God, especially during the seasons of trials. There were times when I felt powerless over a situation, prayer and trust were the only things that helped. Excellent poem.
