The Lord of Ragamuffins

The Lord of Ragamuffins

If He were not The God of Mercy,
Where would I be right now,
If He were not The God of Love,
What would I do?

For I bring nothing to the table,
I have nothing that he needs,
And bringing nothing is all he asks
For me to do,

For it is He who knows who He is, and who I am,
It is He, who knows I’m wretched, poor and blind,
It is He who gives me hope, when I am hopeless,
And He walks with me through paths that twist and wind,

For the King of Glory knows my name and loves me,
The Prince of Peace helps me to rise and stand,
I’m a ragamuffin man,
In a ragamuffin land,
And the Lord of Ragamuffins holds my hand
