The Lord Is My Shepherd, I Shall Not Be In Want

All alone I’m left to be
A wondering sheep in the field
Left and right I look to see
If someone is coming to search for me
I cry out to find the other flock of sheep
But they are all in their sweet tender sleep
Foolishly forgotten that one of them is lost
In the wilderness where the lions boast.

In the caves I hide for danger lurks here
While my GOD given wool keeps me warm; I still fear
I then think how selfish the other sheep could be
To forsake and cast me away for I can see
I can see the flock and how lost it is
I bleat out “DIRECTION”; and I’m like an unpleasant disease.

But though now I’m alone in the wilderness
I still hope to be heard
Not by the lost sheep in a mess
But by the ONE and ONLY TRUE SHEPHERD.
And in the midst of lions I will wait
For HE always saves the ones with true faith.
