The Longest Day

(in reference to April 7th 2007)
  (For the Family)

There We stood, in the mist of a long day
When a Tragedy left Us, without a word to say
That it would Never happen, did We hope and pray
Yet, it suddenly, from Our presence, was She called, astray
Despite, Our impression, about her being here to stay
Had the Storm clouds turned Our blue skies to gray
As her death, upon Us, began to heavily weigh
Did We, a sense of bewilderment, feel and display
Recalling the look on her face, as She went away
An Expression Of I'M SORRY, did She seem to convey
