The Lonely Weed Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Craig Cornish Written 3/18/2026
Under the shadow of the drifting lull Shapeless shroud, the bright yellow sun Is an infusion of joy. It lies in the warm gray sidewalk scene, Gazing at the sky, still and serene, Listening to and watching whispering shadows Move into the heartbeat of the city. As they ignore its smile, with a flicker of spark And the dust of the world. Never calm, but constantly moving, Sunset closes the day with inviting twilight. Effortlessly dissolving the view of the dark blue night, The Floret early spring nectar glides on the wind. Over weeds that have sprung up.
