The Loneliness Of Being Surrounded

The loneliness of being surrounded
Just does not seem right
Yet being surrounded must be
The opposite of being alone
Not if there is silence
To still the noise
The noise which allows
For companionship
Yet in every encounter
There can be separation
With separation there can be
A desperation for contact
Contact does not come
Until we reach out
If no one responds,
Then there is loneliness
In being surrounded.
