Having yet to prove Nature is without sensations, awareness, et al, who’s to say our imagination is invalid?
The Little Wave That Could by Odin Roark So small Amid my big brothers Surfing atop their shoulders Cresting death with infant life So many miles Drifting beside whitecaps Their splash my recreation Like the hydrant joys Captive waters now biding time Cool young spirits on land Shamans of the deep Have shared the future Preparing me for the day When caps will be lifted adrift Free falling to the next And the next Until… The quieter shores Provide ebb and tide solace Davy’s Locker stories Come true I too can return So many ways back to the ocean Through life’s water table Evaporations to the clouds Or… Even the drinking by sentient friends Affords serendipity Liquid waste reclamation A different second chance After all Davey tells me I’m the molecule of life’s continuing story No real end in sight How lucky is that?
