The Lion and the Serpent
From Psalm 91:13
On sweaty sin stages, dusty back roads, and dirty ghetto streets
Where monsters where murdermasks as they mangle the meek
Where twisters of terror touch and taint the weak
Still the lion and serpent they stay under our feet
Lion's are always on the prowl seeking whom they may devour
Like wicked weeds entangled in blasphemy and bloody barbwire
The war drum bangs and the battle beats
Still the lion and the serpent they stay under our feet
The serpents lyrical lies they sound sweeter than honey
Empty promises all about fast cars, women, and mountains of money
Promising Heaven and paying with Hell
Dollars and diamonds turn into Satanic spells
They get bit and devoured as they die for their deeds
Still the lion and the serpent they stay under our feet
The lion and the serpent we trample
Even when the wicked world comes gruesome and gory and still loves to gamble
Fools put their lives and souls on the line
Every single time they roll the dice and spin the wheel
Living a lie and forgetting what's real
Through fire, smoke, and flames
Arrows of anger and pitchforks of pain
Drowning in the rain or scorched in the suns savage heat
We march with the truth while destroying the beast
Still the lion and the serpent they stay under our feet
