The Lilac Song
I let my eyes lose focus
As I breathe in cold air,
In the spring morning,
With lilac in my hair.
You vowed to come back,
And I kept waiting there,
In the spring morning,
With lilac in my hair.
I dreamed again of times
When you spoke my name like a prayer,
In the spring morning,
With lilac in my hair.
You’d grip my hand tight
And one heart we’d share,
In the spring morning,
With lilac in my hair.
And yet I sit waiting
For you to appear,
In the spring morning,
With lilac in my hair.
Oh, how we sat in silence,
How I blushed under your stare,
In the spring morning,
With lilac in my hair.
But the sun is setting.
It’s no longer May.
Now it’s near nightfall,
And the lilac’s turned gray.
