The Lighthouse

It has always been here. Waiting
patiently in the distance. Never giving
thought to the winds that crash the
waves against it nor the coming of
darkness hiding it from sight. It
stands silently, yet true. Surrounded
by familiar tempests which wish to
drown out it's beckon call and bury the
light which shines from within; so deep
and so strong. That in even the most
ominous of circumstances, it leaves no
doubt in the mind of those who glimpse
this light of hope, that it surely must
be the way home. A chance to escape
the cold grasp of the tides of fear
and the surging, swollen seas of the
unknown. It shines steady and willing,
never casting judgement on the
traveler whose path has led them to
this light. It promised that it would be
here. Day after day, night after night
not knowing if it's light would ever be
seen. Silently calling out, waiting,
patiently. Without premise or false
expectation, that one day; one day it
would welcome you home.

Thank you Linda! Glad you enjoyed my ramblings. Generally speaking I think the poem makes a strong statement. Hopefully I will be able to write more in the upcoming weeks. :)
