The Light of Providence
Another tranquil evening in Shangri-la
Reading lost books from Alexandria
Hosting crickets and a dozen or so fireflies
All time and space seems to synchronize
The sun has been down for quite some time
Paradise relaxes while shadows pantomime
Candles dance in the pale lunar light
I thumb through Hemocrates and all its' insight
Waiting for dawn in the Elysian Fields
I ponder the wisdom that has been concealed
What tantalizing prospects of acumen
Remain departed because of dumb humans
With arms akimbo I stare at Eden
Turning to ash in the rays of man's treason
Then I bury my head in another lost tome
Realizing that life is one, great palindrome
