The Life of a Shadow

I watch you as you start to slumber anticipating the moment when I can detatch myself from you.
When you drift off into a dream I become free to be who I am
no longer forced to mimic your every move.
Free to run
and jump or
just sit still,
For a short while I'm allowed to Make my own choices
And although that may not seem like much to you I
t's the only thing that keeps me going strong
