The Lie Revisited

She remained so long in her loneliness she forgot How it felt to have a life –a tormented heart, was all she got, And sadness after sadness, day in and day out, took reign – For all those remembered joys and giggles broken remain; It was never enough for her to cry for all the pain she felt, Her lovelorn heart, so tattered and distressed with troubles dealt. It was never enough for her to hate boys and men alike, As her tears dropped, and let it drop till the lightning strikes; The nature she thought loved her, bled so much of lies, It awoke the burning sun each morning and so kept lives – And she never knew her heart was not as strong, Nor was it that soft, nor could it be strung along – At that moment of hurt, pondering, with so much of hate hid, She may forget what he said last, but remember what he did.
