The Letter

i keep holding on that letter she wrote
i can't believe that is the last final note
with solomn saddness each line is read
and constant questians fill my head
why did i love her and lead her on
she was'nt fooled by the love i'd shown
and my alter ego has been left alone
no one really to call his own
with this a history has been made
an alter ego with a failing grade

Its a hell of situation feels like looking at myself in the mirror and the cost of feigning caring. My favorite poem this evening . Cheers

reflective poem. I'm a little confused about how you refer to your alter ego - is that another personality, the jerk side of you, or do you mean the you before the time of the letter? to distinguish between the regretful you now? I would love to know what you meant when you wrote it.

Thanks for your comments I ask myself that very question every day which is why I am the only one I can trust, I am the only one who will be there in the end. cory

So sad, T.S. There are many of us who live alone and feel the regrets. I have had that feeling of failure lately as well; it comes from the loneliness. Still trying to figure out why I can't seem to find a nice man who accepts me as I am. Saw your comment on Cory's poem about her mother. Totally agree with what you said. One day, she will have regrets. Best wishes, Carolyn
