The Lesson of the Weeping Willow
Even in the most challenging conditions
the weeping willow stands
through storms and chaos
it's majestic beauty
hides all the burdens of life
the weeping willow shows us
that survival is powerful
that from a speck in the earth
something wonderful can grow
rooting itself steadfast
gathering its supply of nourishment
becoming a symbol of fertility and new life
it gives us hope
that our souls yearn for
a sense of belonging
that healing doesn't happen overnight
it takes years
when we feel insecure
it's cascading branches are there
to cradle us
