'the Ledge'

your face tells its own story the heartache, the confusion you have the rare chance to make your own decision without outside influence you are on the ledge the choice to leap or double back and get down moving backwards to familiarity the cocoon that shelters you that smothers you all along the ledge seems the most attractive thing you've ever seen - the monotony will make place for something new, for growth where you will have to spread your wings even if they have been grounded for years you'll never know your own strength if you don't jump over the ledge

Ok I am on a weird mindset-- why is it that when I read your title, I thought of jumping over the ledge is in for suicide?? But you sure turned it around in this poem and made the ledge into an empowering thing...yup, sometimes we just need to jump! btw, hope this helps, Missy, last line in your 2nd stanza, I think should be you're...A very good poem on taking risks, Missy-- mwahugs! & btw care to share what you're wondering? so I can make you wonder some more...
