The Leaf That Shelters Us All
Droplets of rain slide off velvety wings
As it flies toward the trees for shelter there.
After a drought, needed moisture it brings
Hiding under the leaf, safe without a care.
Wings folded, it waits for the storm to pass,
For the clouds to break, for the sun to glow.
Its wings to dry out, all is well at last
For the journey ahead, so far to go.
As we travel thru life, storms will arrive
Leaving droplets of pain on our soul.
Then it fills with joy, now we can survive
A long life ahead is our final goal.
For us to have joy some sadness must fall,
But GOD is the leaf that shelters us all.
