Notes About The Poem
" FOLIAGE " MY PHOTO, ©

The Leaf
Once, a young green leaf I was
Among thousands of leaves on a tree
Proud and vibrant amidst my brothers
Life's most enthusiastic devotee
Night and day guardian I stood
Vigilant the foliage wanted to protect
Producing oxygen and offering shelter
To every bird that I could detect
The Spring, though, went fast by
And was followed by the Summer's heat
Hard times my siblings and l had to face
Till Autumn came and made heat retreat
By the middle of Autumn though
I noticed my color started to change
My siblings began one by one, falling
For nature wished her looks to rearrange
Now, almost alone my self I find
Standing on a practically naked wood
Waiting for the breeze of fate to blow
Reminiscing the vivid days of boyhood
