The Laughter Stays

Remember the young and carefree days, When laughter accompanied all our ways Adventures when we were out on a lark, And the world came alive long after dark We gave little thought about our futures, Wounds would heal with a few sutures Somehow, we let the good times roll away, And responsibility came jolting into play Time seemed to move much faster then, But we poets found time to take up the pen We write of those young and carefree days, And deep down inside the laughter stays.

I am grateful that I had the pen during the pandemic; I needed the pen a lot then!

Me, too. I really need to find some new outlets now that I can get out more. I've been spending entirely too much time on the poetry sites...but I do enjoy writing.

So true Milton, it never leaves us, we should never take life too seriously, because if we let that happen then life becomes boring. Tom

I think that's so true, Tom.

Life in a nutshell, Milt. I do think that a few of us here never buried the laughter too deep, but we all know people who buried it and promptly forgot where. Oh well, that’s life… (see what I did there?). Terry
