The Last Squeeze
Floating up
Through the clouds
Disembodied
Here and now
Surreal twilight
As the last rays
Peek
At the end of our lives
From beneath the horizon
We lived our dreams
Now
We float up
To meet our Lord
We had no idea
That it would come
In the rain tonight
That was not part
Of our journey
Of our plan
Of our love
Our wants
Of tomorrow
Gone
To A skidding car
Our shattered bodies
I close my eyes
And still feel
The last squeeze
Of your hand
Just so quick
Nothing was said
Now I watch you
Floating up
Through the clouds
Your scarlet hair
Blowing
In the twilight
Of our shattered dream
Everything
We felt for each other
Floods my being
Here
To the point
I will burst
With that love
For you
In here
Our loving nights
They shine so bright
With a panic
A blight appears
To spread upon
My heart
In the coming years
And you
drift
Up and away
Amongst the clouds
Even in death
Love is so cruel
29 one thousand
30 one thousand
Breath
Breath
No
No
You fool
Stop
My arm reaching
Clutching
Willing
But
You were gone
Into a flashing cloud
That blight
On my heart
Is my life now
And your scarlet hair
Blowing
Shatters my dreams
How long
Can I hold this dream?
How long
Can I hold this scream?
How long
Can I hold
And as the years
Pass
It’s all just as
Hard
As the day
You squeezed my hand
For the last
