The Last Night

Come, lay beside me on our bed of silken sheets
and in the quiet of the night we will watch as darkness falls
and shadows are cast in the corners of our room
let our hands touch under our blanket of fleece
there are no need for words- no goodbyes

As morning light crept through the window
they had left- together, as always.
