The Last Full Measure

Abraham Lincoln called it The Last Full Measure When your life is given with no thought for yourself whatsoever Whether it be in war or an emergency so grave That others run away and it’s left to the brave Their friends and colleagues remember them And what they did for others in their end So as flags at half mast flutter in the breeze They sleep in silence and we take a knee. © Paul Warren Poetry
