Notes About The Poem

I prefer Autumn! It is my favourite season and, for me, it is so much nicer then Summer.

The air begins to cool and the leaves change colour. Just what I prefer!

The Last Breath of Summer

It's been unbearably hot here
With the warm breath of late July,
While the sky remains blue and clear.

Th time fades away with a sigh,
As August arrives full of peace
With the warm breath of late July.

It seems now this breath will cease,
But can a new month point the way
As August arrives full of peace?

Then at last comes the special day
As Autumn gold begins to shine,
But can a new month point the way?

The air is full of scented wine,
And glory blesses all the days
As Autumn gold begins to shine.

The fading heat leaves gentle haze;
It's been unbearably hot here
And glory blesses all the days
While the sky remains blue and clear.

Great pen Elisabeth, really well penned with good imagery and insightful thought too. Take care, Gordon
