The Land Cries

They
Asked me
To be quiet
In my father's land
Where the milk flows
Where the honey not dries
Where peace resides and plays
Where children nightly sings naked
Caring less in the full glare of the moon...

Then
Them I
Asked if
It wasn't so
In the lands of
Theirs where they
Bath naked by the sea
Before they came to ours
I asked if the peace they so
Very much want to steal from
Us, was tenant in their own lands
Or If the peace they so desire to rob
Us of was a landlord in their dried lands...

Us
I see
That we
Have given
Them the room
To steal, plunder
And waste our native
Peace, one which was so
Living unhindered and freely
Among us in the times very past
One which we have and so freely give
Freely did we let them take those lands of
Ours which are the symbols of peace eternal.
We drove them not when they offered mirrors for
Our loving brothers who sweat to till the happy lands...

I'm
Not
In the
Know of
What to do
To bring back
To our troubled
And war-torn lands
Which quietly bleeds
Continually from their ill
Influences of yesteryears
And also those resident t'day
Among and between us as we too
Aid them to kill our motherland whose
Milk we drank and who they milked and
Tethered to nurture their barren, dry lands
To what it is this day. The blood of our brothers
Lying in bondage and slavery from the times past
In their lonely and shallow graves cry to us here t'day
To save what is left of our motherland from foreign wastes...
