The Knowing of No Escape
This seems mine destiny.
To never hear her ethereal voice
again. But I hear only them.
The screams!— the cries! These voices I hear
while in a cold, dark slumber.
This seems mine destiny.
To be plague by malevolent
thoughts. And I fear them.
The terror!— the horror! They
seem like ghosts within the
realms of my mind.
This seems mine destiny.
To never receive thine forgiveness.
Now I see them.
The fire!— the flames!
These memories, which burn
through my very spirit.
This seems mine destiny.
To be tortured by shadows that will
forevermore, be my keeper.
And I cannot escape them.
The pain!— the agony!
And the choices I’ve made will kill
my soul eternally.
This is! mine destiny.
To find no solace, to grasp no
heart, and to never see the fields
of untold splendor. So now i join them.
In the screams!— the cries!—
the terror!— the horror!— the fire!—
the flames!— the pain! the agony!
And the knowing ... of no escape.
