The King’s Exit

A doorway exiting the castle
Ancient, when the land was still young
You can imagine the king

Stepping from his only sanctuary
Leaving his world and all his people
To whatever fate has planned

He does not look back
His kingdom was great at one time
Now it is no more

Both it and its people
Destroyed and left to rot with time
While he lives in paradise
