The Kindest Man, New In Town

He was the kindest man, with newfangled, unusual ways of doing things. He had a good heart, but was avoided by the townies. Died at thirty-eight, probably from a sense of shame As his business died first because no one would venture in. Sad for the few of us who got to know him, his employees.

Sounds like someone I would've enjoyed knowing... So terrible that he wasn't appreciated more- but not surprising in the world we live in. This reminds me of something Alan Watts once said about "insecure societies" and how people in the mainstream cannot tolerate those who play by their own rules, because they're not confident enough in the life they've chosen.
