The Key Got Stuck

The key got stuck inside the lock
Securing our son's door.
We turned and twisted but
It wasn't budging anymore.

The locksmith took a bit of time
But finally arrived
Since we were, from that entrance,
Most annoyingly deprived.

He nailed the problem 1 - 2 - 3
(The cylinders were jammed)
And now the door is good as new,
Just waiting to be slammed.

Emergencies are costly -
That we really can't debate
And that is why the bill's
$143 (dot) 88!

It may have been cheaper to break down the door and buy a new one? I locked my car door once and left the keys inside! I was picking apples with friends that day and needed an old coat hanger to manipulate the lock in the door. Believe it or not I found one in a field. That worked! Backing up the car to leave I forgot I had put the bag of apples behind the car and I drove over it and made apple sauce! A true story, no exaggeration. / M

New York, New York! --Where beer at the ballpark is $155 or so and extracting a key from a lock is a lot (i.e., almost exactly $144)!… Come to Chicago: We pay about $85 for the same thing …

Oh gosh that was a costly situation but being locked out is no fun, glad he got it sorted quickly:-) Hugs Jan xx
