While my heart may understand
gentle love, our God has planned
While my soul may never presume
His light seeps from my prayer room
While my spirit guides me past the pain
assuring me that I have everything to gain
there is a music, a rhythm, a light
reflecting the wonders of love so right
there is a beautiful, edged in hope
clinging to my thoughts so I can cope
there is a gentling, a joy, a stillness
abiding in my soul, curing every illness
While my heart may be dissatisfied
I cling to the Holy Spirit living inside
While my soul aches as it stumbles along
I’m led by the One who rights all that’s wrong
While my spirit sometimes feels lost
I’m grateful for the One who paid its cost
with Him beside me, enlightening me
I have every reason to bow to my knee
with Him reminding me of precious grace
there is a promise that I’ll soon see His face
with Him silencing all the shame I feel
I have one purpose, so I’ll humbly kneel
While my heart was made right by His love
there is the story sent down from God above
While my soul may be tempted by deadly sin
there is a promise that I’ll have peace within
While my spirit once feared all the dark places
there is assurance that He is where grace is
without a doubt, there is love that never dies
He once died, but in three days, He did arise
without Him, I’d be sure to fall on my face
He is the reason that I know this endless grace
without giving into the darkness that surrounds
He taught me that love could speak without a sound
While my heart pleads for a way to explain
there’s no description of the cross, so inhumane
While my soul seeks to know Him in all His ways
silent prayers plead and I’ll seek Him all my days
While my spirit values the touch of His gentle hand
there’s no doubting, and even when I don’t understand…
I know the way – it is the way of faith so sweet
I know the truth – it is this hope in every heartbeat
I know the life – it is in the love which will complete
I know the ONE, who heals and forgives my worst
I know He spreads His light, quenching every thirst
I know He is my Savior and I will put Him first
I know, without a doubt, that He forgave me
I know, because of Him, I can finally see
I know, when all else fails, His love is the key!
