The Joys of Motherhood
"? kú ewu ?m? ó!”, they kept saying
To me
I smile and nod accordingly
To them
Gifts and blessings keep pouring in
For it
Joy and happiness in all
But me
In their place, disgust prevails.
The bundle in my arms is nothing but
A ticket
To take me from being a name to
Social titles:
‘My Wife’, ‘My Daughter’, ‘My In-Law’...
A shame!
That the coming of MY joy
- My child – Should transform such Devils into
Charming angels.
