THE JOY OF THE LORD
When I awoke this morning, I could feel their stare,
hidden off in the distance, as though they weren’t there.
I could feel their intent, deep down in my heart,
they were laying await, before my day did start.
I felt them wondering, just what I would do,
then one spoke up and said, God, has ought against you.
I begin to pray, as doubt, begin to draw near,
I felt them stirring, trying to bring forth fear.
I asked my Father, if these words were true,
He said, Son, don’t let doubt, take my place in you.
Know the truth, be the truth, for lies do always change,
when the spirits condemn you, do not think it strange.
For you see, truth is always growing, lies fall to the side,
grow with me in spirit, and in my love abide.
Beware, be cautious, your adversary, the devil, lurketh about,
he tries to take your faith, and turn it in to doubt.
The thief cometh not, but to kill, to steal, and destroy,
those thing’s I’ve placed in you, which brings me, true joy.
If the joy of the Lord, is our strength you see,
Will you let him bring out the joys, he has placed in the?
