The Joy of Living In the North
The Joy of Living in the North
By Elton Camp
No greater joy can some people know
Than living in the land of ice and snow
They haven’t the slightest fear
Of a far-below-zero temperature
Snow will fall both day and night
To them, that’s the greatest delight
Even when forecasters say,
“Five more feet of snow today”
Why need they mind any more
With the snowplows galore!
Though the snow is all around
Not one time have they frowned
To me, there is no worse fate
Than living in a northern state
With snow piled to the window ledge
Only a rounded hump for the hedge
Give me whirling tornadoes any day
It’s in Alabama that I prefer to stay
