The Journey of a Single Drop

A single drop of rain,
Falling from the sky,
Splashes on the ground,
And leaves a little mark.

It joins with droplets of water,
Forming a puddle,
That glistens in the light,
Of the early morning sun.

The puddle absorbs more rain,
Getting bigger and deeper,
Until it pools up in a ditch,
And becomes a small stream.

The stream flows onward,
Gathering more water as it goes,
On its journey to the sea.
