The Irony

The sign outside the bakery Said no one need be masked If vaccinated, but as people Entered, no one asked. My spouse and I, both with vaccines, Still wear our masks indoors Which, since we’re extra cautious, Means some food-related stores. The bakery (a cafe, too) Was crowded, but no face Was covered by a mask at all In the entire place. Were all those people honest? Surely, some of them were not, But we, with masks, got glances Like we’d both refused our shot.

I've had my two jabs but still wear a mask wherever I go. I don't consider it a nuisance at all. Americans are drunk with their personal freedoms even if it affects others negatively. Stupid is too kind a word for people like that. / Maurice

Americans are aggravating, methinks. Other countries go through mask requirements and lockdowns with nary a whimper. What's with us? ~ Just sayin'

I know several people who lack integrity and would parade into these places without a mask, pretending they had the vaccine, so you are wise.

Yes, there is irony in this present "mask or no mask" culture. You did the right thing. I'm a firm believer that if we do the right thing, we should never be condemned when something goes amiss. Great stanzas, Ilene.

Here in the uk hospitals are filling up with the unvaccinated, this delta is ten times worse than the first strain of covid. Carry on wearing your mask, I carry mine everywhere. Tom

It is strange the things that can divide people. The CDC just announced that unvacers are in more danger from those vaccinated than vice versa. It will be years before we know the truth about the whole thing. But until then... you are wise to be cautious. Have a great day my friend.
