Images of days she thought she had lived, Images of what had gone by, Remind her of posing for each little shot, Posing for each little lie, About things being grand, happy and full, Things being more than they were, About things, in her life, that never occurred, Things that never happened to her, Like smiling and loving a beautiful beach, A beach in the bitter cold air, And pretending it’s warm, with tropical heat, And she’s the only one there, But, now she’s older, she looks through her life, Her life she tried to escape, After realizing her life that’s shown on the screen, Was all, emotionally, sort of fake.
