The Inflamed Appendix of the Nation

The Inflamed Appendix of the Nation

By Elton Camp

The state is very long and low
And sure no place to live or go

A tsunami could go shore to shore
And there’d be little there anymore

Or a hurricane could wipe it away
East or west in just a single day

Not that there’s a whole lot its got
Sand, insects, gators & way too hot

Why does anybody live in the place
And have such an environment to face

There are forty-nine other states
Where there would be better fates

Someday it may sink under the sea
And the vile place will no longer be

To folks there who have any sense
While you can, get yourself hence
