The Infinity Castle

The Infinity Castle
there is a castle I have built from the deepest longing I have ever known,
its walls grow every night from my refusal to surrender to forgetting,
I filled it with her eyes, her voice, and everything that still remained,
and somewhere in those walls she breathes still, warm, alive, unvanished.
I fear time, I have seen how it erases holy faces and holy voices,
I have seen voices slide into silence like smoke forgetting its own fire,
I have seen loves turn into habit and habit dissolve slowly into dust,
so I engraved her into infinity before my mind could ever betray her.
somewhere in the endless corridors there lives an older version of me,
his name is Abdo and he chose to stay there loving without any ending,
still leaning toward her, still in the middle of a sentence left unfinished,
guardian of all she ever was, of all that refuses to become forgotten.
I once whispered a prayer into the night with a heart trembling and bare,
do not let her become a memory, do not let this love fade into silence,
and He answered in the only way that can withstand the passing of all years,
He left the story open, for a love left unfinished can never truly die.
the castle grows each night from everything I refuse to let slip away,
her silhouette in the early light, the specific ache of missing her on a Tuesday,
the way her absence is more present and heavier than anything else could be,
I keep building day by day with a love that does not know how to end.
somewhere beyond time, beyond forgetting, beyond all that crumbles and fades,
she still exists in that particular light that only I know how to recognize,
and he is there, loving without fear, breathing in her absence again and again,
and the walls keep growing, and the love remains, and the story will never end.
